Our office is generally open most weekdays from 9am to 5pm, with some changes in scheduling depending on the Dr.’s availability. We will schedule your appointment as promptly as possible. If you are in pain or an emergency situation, every attempt will be made to see you that day.
We try our best to stay on schedule to minimize your waiting. Due to the fact Dr. Slemko provides surgical services, various circumstances may alter the time required for a particular procedure. Emergency cases can also arise and cause delays. Unfortunately not all circumstances are foreseeable due to the unpredictable nature of health care and surgery. We appreciate your understanding and patience.
Please call us at 604-273-5655 with any questions or to schedule an appointment.
New Patients are welcome with or without a referral from your dentist/physician.
Your initial appointment will consist of a consultation explaining your diagnosis and treatment options. Occasionally, surgery can be performed the same day as the consultation. However, a complex medical history or treatment plan will require an evaluation and a second appointment to provide treatment on another day.
Please assist us by providing the following information at the time of your consultation:
Your surgical referral slip and any x-rays if applicable.
A list of medications you are presently taking.
If you have medical or dental insurance, bring the necessary completed forms. This will save time and allow us to help you process any claims.
IMPORTANT: All patients under the age of 19 years of age must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at the consultation visit.
Please alert the office if you have a medical condition that may be of concern prior to surgery (i.e., diabetes, high blood pressure, artificial heart valves and joints, rheumatic fever, etc.) or if you are currently taking any medication (i.e., heart medications, aspirin, anticoagulant therapy, etc.).
If your dentist or physician has taken x-rays, you may request that they forward them to our office. If there is not enough time, please pick them up and bring them to our office. If additional films are necessary, they can be taken at our facility.
Financial Policy & Insurance
Dr Slemko strives to deliver the finest surgical care at the most reasonable cost, therefore payment is due at the time service is rendered. Fees are based on dental specialist fees in British Columbia. Some surgeries will be covered totally by the medical services plan of BC. All fees will be discussed at the consultation visit.
Dr. Slemko will accept any major Canadian insurance company. We work with you and your insurance company to minimize your fees due at the time of evaluation and treatment, and to maximize your reimbursements. Following your consultation appointment, you will be given an estimate of the total cost of your surgery. We will then work hand-in-hand with you to maximize your insurance reimbursement for covered procedures. We accept direct settlement from insurance plans which means you will be asked to pay only the portion of the total fee estimated to be your cost. At all times, however, you are responsible for all fees and costs not settled by your insurance plan.
